
NINA BEVERIDGE - Producer / Director / Creative Director
Nina Beveridge is the CEO of Hop To It Productions and President / Co-owner of Beevision.
2006 was a busy year for Nina. In collaboration with Hop To It Productions President and Exec Producer Susan Nation, she launched “Hip Hop in the T-Dot” an instructional dance and news magazine series with an innovative web site, airing on the Rogers Network and “Big Grin’s House Party” a beautifully designed and highly entertaining preschool kid’s series with a dynamic companion web site to teach tots literacy, nutrition and dance in a very fun way. In January 2007, Nina and Susie’s multi-platform game “Create A Date” became the Winner of Round One in The Great Canadian Video Game Competition.
Hop To It’s licensable multi-platform game environment utilizes our proprietary online game engine – S4Tek - a user generated content tool that provides Simultaneous, Seamless, Synchronous, Streaming video. Our ‘Create’ and ‘Share’ Tools offer a powerful and creative online experience.
Beevision is a post- production and animation company that Nina founded in 1993. Beevision has provided animation and broadcast design to many networks and broadcasters in Canada and the USA, seeking to create unique, original content, derived from the wealth of creative experience that the Beevision team has amassed. Beevision’s clients have included: ABC, CBC, CTV, IOC, NBA, the Toronto Raptors, NHL, TSN, TVO, W, Alliance-Atlantis, Olympic Spirit and a wide range of premium ad agencies and corporate clients.
Beevision’s accomplishments include providing the broadcast design, animation and on air promotions for the Toronto Raptors Basketball Club. In 1998 Beevision received a special Gemini Award for Outstanding Technical Achievement for their work on the development of the Puppetworks digital motion-capture system. In the fall of 2001, Beevision produced & designed the large scale multimedia experiences for Harbourfront’s prestigious Festival of Creative Genius, an event that honoured fourteen of the greatest creative geniuses of today. Nina was the Producer, Director and Writer of The Idealist - James Beveridge, Film Guru, 2006 Worldfest-Houston Remi Award winner “World Peace & Understanding”, which premiered on TVO in May 2006. This feature length POV documentary film explores the life and work of Nina’s father. It was shot in 2004 throughout India, the USA and Canada, chronicling 50 years of her father’s life in the documentary movement.
In 2003 Nina Beveridge produced a 12-minute High Definition film for Olympic Spirit Toronto. The Calling is comprised of nearly 100 years of rarely seen Official Olympic Footage and features a 10.1 surround sound mix with an original orchestral score and complex sound design. Winner of the 2005 Amova Award, Milan FICTS Festival, 2006 Thea Award, LA – Best Themed Entertainment (Featured Media) and the 2007 Olympic Spirit Award, International Sport Festival, Warsaw.
Prior to forming Beevision, Nina was contracted in 1992 by CTV to be the Graphics Director for their coverage of the Olympic Games in Barcelona and the 1994 Olympics in Lillehammer. Her career began in 1981 when she was hired by Rogers Cablesystems to create a graphics department to service their new pay television system. From there she became the Designer for CBC’s ‘Project IRIS’ teletext field trial; launched the on air look and graphics department for TSN in 1984; worked as an Animator and then Creative Director for Greenlight Animation and then the Image Group Canada/Soho Post. She was a founding director of Inter/Access in 1982 - a non profit digital artist’s organization that is still on the cutting edge of interactive design and experimentation.
